Origin of Names and Packs
Boudoir
This was originally a biscuit popular on the continent of Europe. I do not know how we came to choose the name “Boudoir” for it.
It was commonly thought that this was a biscuit used to feed babies as something they could chew on, but in fact it was a very friable biscuit and probably not suitable.
Boudoir biscuits were very popular with housewives for making trifles.
It is a very light biscuit. It will be noted that the pack only weighs 125g, compared to the common weight of a biscuit pack of 200g.
This biscuit became a registered line of ours and therefore the name could not be used by competitors for similar biscuits.
